The collections include population tax lists, passenger lists, marriage and death records, newspaper pages, and names and stories extracted from newspapers. Many of these collections also include images.

The newly added Sweden, Gothenburg, Passenger Lists 1869–1951 collection contains a record of Alexander Samuelson, who departed Sweden for the United States on April 20, 1883.
Samuelson, born in 1862, would go on to leave an indelible mark on American industrial history. As a Swedish-born engineer and supervisor at the Root Glass Company in Terre Haute, Indiana, he played a pivotal role in developing the iconic Coca-Cola bottle design in 1915 — a shape recognized worldwide to this day. Though often mistakenly credited as the sole inventor, Samuelson’s contribution was part of a remarkable team effort. His journey from Gothenburg to America reflects the story of many emigrants whose talents helped shape the modern world.
