Celebrate Unity Day with Free Access to German Records on MyHeritage

In honor of German Unity Day, MyHeritage is offering free access to all German historical record collections from October 2–6, 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to explore your family’s connections to Germany and uncover new details about your relatives.
MyHeritage currently hosts 77 historical record collections from Germany, Europe, with a total of 283,059,236 records. These cover a wide range of record types, including vital, church, census, and emigration records.Some of these collections are unique to MyHeritage and cannot be found on other genealogy websites. This includes records from Prussia, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, and southwestern Germany.
These collections can provide valuable information such as:
  • Names, dates, and places of birth, marriage, and death
  • Residences and occupations
  • Family relationships, including parents, spouses, and children
  • Migration and emigration details
Searching the German collections will be free for all users between October 2–6, 2025. To view or save records to your family tree outside of these dates, a Data or Complete subscription is required. If you already have a family tree on MyHeritage, Record Matching technology will automatically notify you if new discoveries match your relatives.
