Happy birthday to Gal Gadot! Today the Wonder Woman star turns 34.

Gadot was born on April 30, 1985 in Petah Tikva, Israel. At the age of 18, she was crowned Miss Israel and went on to compete in the Miss Universe 2004 pageant in Ecuador. Although she did not win, the experience helped launch her career as a model. After completing her two mandatory years of military service in the Israel Defense Forces, Gadot returned to school to study law.
In 2009, Gadot made her film debut in Fast & Furious and would go on to reprise her role in several sequels in the action-packed franchise. However, it was not until she landed the role of Wonder Woman did her fame skyrocket. After making her first appearance as the superhero in the film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Gadot starred in her own solo film, Wonder Woman, in 2017. The film was a box office hit and became one of the highest grossing films of the year. She will next reprise the role in the sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, which is scheduled to be released in 2020.
