Happy birthday to Jeff Bridges! Today the actor turns 70.

Born into a Hollywood family, Bridges got his start on film as an infant in the movie, The Company She Keeps. His father, Lloyd Bridges, was a prolific actor best known for starring in the television series Sea Hunt. Growing up, Jeff was very close to his older brother, Beau, who often acted as a surrogate father when their father was working. After turning 18, Jeff joined the United States Coast Guard Reserve and served for 7 years.
In 1971, he garnered wide acclaim after starring in The Last Picture Show, for which he earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Throughout the course of his career, Jeff has tackled a wide range of roles across multiple genres. Some of his most memorable films include The Big Lebowski, Tron, and True Grit.
