On November 22, 1873, a terrible collision between the French passenger steamship “Ville du Havre” and the British cargo sailing ship “Loch Earn” occurred in the mid-Atlantic, in the wee hours, hundreds of miles from land. 226 passengers and crew aboard the “Ville du Havre” lost their lives. Geneanet volunteers are building the family trees of every victim in a collaborative project.
