We’ve Updated The Geneanet Terms of Service

As you may know, a new regulation in European Union (EU) law on data protection and privacy, called General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is applicable since May 25, 2018. Geneanet takes stock of the situation.

After much delay, Geneanet has just completed its GDPR compliance. Geneanet had anticipated this compliance. The process took more time than expected.

To this end, we have worked with a law firm specialized in this area.

Each Geneanet member is invited to review the updated Geneanet Terms of Service and to approve them.

Which are the major changes made to our Terms of Service to comply with the GDPR?

The processing we perform with your private data and their purpose are explained in detail. The data we could retain after the deletion of a Geneanet account are also listed.

We are also transparent about how we use cookies.

Information about advertising and marketing prospection have been removed because they are outdated since there’s no more ads on Geneanet.

We apologize for the delay in the implementation of this process. It seemed important to us to take time and to make the expertise required, and not act hastily.
