We’re only one week away from MyHeritage LIVE, the first-ever MyHeritage user conference in Oslo, Norway! Geni will be there on the weekend of November 2-4, 2018 at the Radisson Blu Scandinavian hotel located right in the center of Oslo.
A full schedule of expert speakers and hands-on workshops are planned throughout this immersive conference. In fact, there will be two lecture tracks – Genealogy and DNA – to educate you on some of MyHeritage’s powerful products and upcoming developments. With 20 international speakers participating in presentations and panels covering a variety of topics in genealogy and DNA, this conference is sure to be fun and informative. The list of speakers also includes Geni’s General Manager, Mike Stangel, who will be giving a workshop and presentation about collaborative genealogy on Geni.
Here’s what’s planned for Geni’s workshop and presentation at MyHeritage LIVE:
Saturday, November 3:
3:30pm Workshop: Working on the World Family Tree with Geni
This hands-on-workshop is open to everyone of all experience levels. We will cover how to get started on your family tree on Geni and how to get connected to over 126 million people in Geni’s World Family Tree. Current Geni users are also welcomed to join the workshop. Bring your questions and learn more about what else you can do beyond adding profiles to the family tree on Geni, from creating and joining genealogy projects to helping to improve upon the information already added to the World Family Tree.
Sunday, November 4:
11:30am Genealogy Track: An Introduction to Geni
For those who want to learn more about Geni, you can attend our genealogy track lecture on Sunday. Learn more about collaboration in a single family tree, including adding sources to shared profiles, communicating with public discussions, understanding the revision history of profiles, and working with projects. Attendees will also learn how Geni and MyHeritage work together to help improve the quality of the World Family Tree and connect you to new relatives.
We will also have a Geni table available in the exhibit hall to help answer any questions you may have about Geni. Several Geni curators will also be in attendance and you may find a few at the Geni table throughout the duration of the conference. Be sure to stop by and say hi! And don’t forget to ask us about an exclusive conference discount on Geni Pro!
If you can’t make the conference in person, MyHeritage will be live streaming the genealogy and DNA tracks online. Viewers can tune in starting at 9am Oslo time on November 3 to watch the live stream on the MyHeritage LIVE conference website. You may want to use a time zone converter to find the correct time for you. You can also follow the hashtag #MHLIVE2018 on social media during the conference for the latest news and updates.
We hope to see you there!
