MyHeritage Dakar Rally Team Update

MyHeritage is sponsoring a racing team in the 2021 Dakar Rally, the elite off-road endurance competition currently taking place in Saudi Arabia!

The MyHeritage Team is proving to be resilient and resourceful as they brave high temperatures and desert sand dunes to compete in one of the world’s most difficult races.

Co-driver Charly Gotlib has been checking in with us with daily updates of their experiences. Here are his updates from today:

Today was Stage 4, and the longest day ever!

We started at 9:30 in the morning with a 260 km long liaison, of which 90 km was off-road.

This was followed by a 336 km special over fast tracks with a few dunes to cross here and there. As we got to the start of the day race, we had a flat running tire. Luckily we had just enough time to change it before the start with the help of our assistants.

We succeeded to finish the day on time. The dune crossings were much easier than those from yesterday. Today the difficulty was the navigation, to get to the right pass, canyon, valley, etc.

We finished the 250 km liaison to close the day.

We look forward to hearing the team’s updates as they progress in the challenging Dakar race.

Join us in cheering them on from near and from far. Go Team!
