See Geni at RootsTech 2019

This week the Geni team will be heading to RootsTech 2019, the world’s largest genealogy conference. The conference will be held on February 27 – March 2, 2019 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over 300 sessions for all experience levels are available for attendees. If you’re unable to make it, there will be several sessions will be live streamed for free.

This year, RootsTech has lined up an exciting group of keynote speakers, including Emmy award-winning actress Patricia Heaton and Saroo Brierley, author of the best-selling autobiography A Long Way Home.

Come visit the Geni booth (323) in the expo hall during the conference. Members of the Geni team and several curators will be on hand to help answer your questions and share with you the latest new features on Geni. You’ll also want to pick up our handy Geni notebooks. These are perfect for taking quick notes during sessions throughout the conference. These notebooks are very popular and go fast, so be sure to get one quick!

Do you have a GEDCOM for a branch that has not yet been added to Geni? Bring your GEDCOM file to our booth and we’ll help you import your tree with our new and improved GEDCOM importer! If you already have an account or are just starting one, we’ll help you upload your tree to Geni and help connect it to nearly 130 million profiles in Geni’s World Family Tree.

Join us on Friday, March 1 at 1pm for a special demo at the MyHeritage booth (805). Geni’s General Manager Mike Stangel will be presenting “Using MyHeritage Record Matches with Geni.” Mike will demonstrate how to use Record Matches and how they can help benefit both Geni and MyHeritage users.

Geni Pathfinder

Don’t forget you can also use the Geni Pathfinder while at RootsTech to easily discover how you’re related to other attendees in Geni’s World Family Tree. With nearly 130 million people connected to the World Family Tree, you just might run into a cousin you never knew! Simply go to this url on your mobile device:  https://www.geni.com/pathfinder . A QR code and Finder ID will be automatically created for you. Have the other person scan your QR code with their mobile device or you can enter the other person’s Finder ID to quickly discover how you’re related in Geni’s World Family Tree.
